From the Renaissance (16th century), puppets accompanied street vendors to attract the barge. In the 17th century, puppet theatre was synonymous with comic theatre and a means of expression against the power of the time. Guignol was created at the beginning of the 19th century in France (Lyon). Like Guignol, Gnafron is a bon vivor. He's a funny character, but also generous and profound. Made in Europe since 1909!
